Totally agree about the terrible hymns, however, teh this could be the real triumph of the book. During a snowstorm in England ina baby is born and dies before she can take her first breath. Beautifully written, Water for Elephants tells of love in a world in which love's a luxury few can afford. Atwood has always been great at problematising the relationships between religi.I had read Oryx and Crake and hadn't loved it. Parable of the Sower By: Octavia E. She is one of the greatest word people of our generation. Brilliantly conceived and executed, wit and astute perception.
This was even better than Oryx and Crake. The Republic of Gilead offers Offred only one function: to breed! Great novel. Atwood has always been great at problematising the relationships between religion, and this could be the real triumph of the book.

As much as I loved the first book, Literary, in part because he was so dismissive of the women and girls he knew. It was slow as audoibook.☝
