Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant That Ever Lived by Ralph Helfer

We often get asked for recommendations of animal and elephant books. Because education plays such a huge role in a better future for elephants, we were glad to compile a reading list to create an easy reference. Some people want to educate themselves more on the broad range of subjects involving elephants, others just want to get lost in a story that brings them closer to elephants- so we took that into account. Please know, while we have personally read many of these books, we have not read all of them. Also remember, if you enjoy a book written by a researcher or conservationist, most have other books as well that you can look for. This list is by no means a complete list of every elephant book, just something to get you started. Please enjoy.
